Since 2008, The American Film Institute has been holding its annual film festival in Washington DC. This years AFI Docs Film Festival will be held June 14-18 in lovely Washington DC, in many different theaters located right down the street from our District of Columbia Bed and Breakfast. This film festival is internationally known, as well as having many influential members of the film industry on its advisory board, two of those being Ken Burns and Spike Lee.
What is AFI Docs? AFI Docs is the nation’s documentary film festival known for showing the best documentary films from the US and around the world. AFI Docs is also the only film festival in America that has the unique opportunity to connect film audiences with national opinion leaders, filmmakers and intriguing film subjects. Screenings during this annual five-day event take place in landmark venues in Washington, DC and the world-class AFI Silver Theatre, the independent film hub of DC. Other venues will include Landmark E Street Movie Theater, District Architecture Theater, and the Newseum.
What films will be at the festival this year? As always, the festival will be loaded with many films from all over the world that you can check out with your family, friends, or even if you want to go alone. There are a number of feature films which include The Force, A Gray State, The Reagan Show, and Nowhere to Hide. Along with the feature films, will be numerous short films that will be shown as well including Balloonfest, Edith+Eddie, and Election Night.
This is a five-day film festival with showing all over DC, but within walking distance from our beautiful Washington DC B&B.
