The National Anti-Hunger Policy Conference 2017 will be taking place from March 5th-7th at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, near our Washington DC bed and breakfast. The National Anti-Hunger Policy Conference, along with the National CACFP Forum, will bring together anti-hunger and anti-poverty advocates, government officials, sponsoring organizations and nutrition and anti-obesity groups, child advocates, and representatives of food banks and food rescue organizations for this three-day event.
What can you expect at the conference? Your schedule will be filled with plenary sessions, interactive trainings, and workshops. The workshop tracks that will be offered to choose from are: Access/Cross Cutting, Advocacy, Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Child Nutrition, Collective Impact, Communications, Community Health/Nutrition, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Research.
There will be also many socializing opportunities to be able to connect with the other attendees. You will be able to attend networking events and have a special opportunity to meet with Congressmen on Capitol Hill. The meeting with Congress members will focus on ways to improve the federal nutrition program and how to provide food services for low-income children. The National Anti-Hunger Policy Conference will also feature distinguished speakers including, author Kathryn Edin, TV executive Sherry Brennan, Secretary of Agriculture, and more.
Registration rates to attend the National Anti-Hunger Policy Conference 2017 are: $350 per person if registered before January 13 or $415 per person if registered after January 13. You can also purchase a single day ticket for $250 per person.
The conference has a block of rooms saved at the Omni Shoreham Hotel for a rate of $267 per night, if booked by January 25th.
