This October 3rd to the 5th at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be the 2016 AUSA annual meeting and exposition – a professional development forum. Association of the United States Army annual meeting happens every October and is the largest land power exposition and professional development forum in North America to date. This gathering is very popular because of its educational presentations that give information that is relevant to current time. In essence, when you attend this conference near our Washington DC inn you’ll be encouraged to continue with your career in the Army. Panel discussions on pertinent military and national security subjects will be available. Some of the development events and seminars available will be: AUSA Institute of Land Warfare (ILW) Contemporary Military Forums; AUSA Military Family Forums; Sergeant Major of the Army NCO and Soldier Forum; Warrant Officer Professional Development Seminar, and more. For a complete listing of all their events, visit their forum information webpage.
When you attend this gathering, expect that there will be a lot of people as it is popular. Over 26,000 attendees from around the world come each year. And with their open display space, there is plenty to see and do that will keep you occupied. Some attendees in recent years have been Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Secretary of Defense, the Chief of Staff and Secretary of the Army, and Director of the FBI among others. This is a great way to experience a different side of the army that is more academic. This professional environment will also bring out more communication on what is and isn’t working in this field.
Washington DC in October is perfect for sightseeing. If you get any free time, visit some National Monuments with your fellow conference friends.
