The Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN) is holding its annual AMSN Convention 2016 from September 29th through October 2nd in Washington DC at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, near our Washington DC bed and breakfast. The AMSN Convention will provide the opportunity for nurses to gain up to 15.25 CNE contact hours during the 3-day convention. The convention will consist of sessions, meals and speakers for an opportunity to learn and connect with others in the field.
Registration for AMSN Convention 2016 costs $515 for AMSN members and $615 for non-members. If you would like to attend either just Friday or Saturday it is $270 for members and $320 for non-members. It is $30 to for those who wish to only attend the Opening & Closing ceremonies. There is a special Certification Review Course offered on Wednesday, September 28th for $259 for members and $319 for non-members. After the convention, the CMSRN exam will be availible and if you would like to attend you can visit msncb.org to apply for complete details, including application and registration information.
What is the schedule for the convention? On Thursday there will be Opening Ceremonies and Opening Address that will include a session entitled “Surviving and Thriving in the Crazy World of Nursing!”, followed by the Grand Opening Reception in Exhibit Hall/Poster Viewing. Friday-Sunday will consist of various informational sessions including, Leadership and Responsibilities of the Nurse at Bedside and Shared Governance, Advocacy for the Medical-Surgical Nurse; Influencing the Legislative and Regulatory Process, Communication between RN and Physician, and much more.
Rooms at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel are secured for conference attendees through August 26th for $205 per night.
