This summer, come take a break and escape to the DC Jazz Fest from the 10th of June to the 19th. Since 2005 the DC Jazz Festival organization has provided enriching and entertaining Jazz shows that help massage students young and old, kids, and adults, into the fantastic world of jazz, near our Washington DC inn. This festival will present a wide genre of artists from far and near. These artists will be ones just emerging in their careers, as well as highly acclaimed artists, but most importantly it exposes DC to an original art form that has captivated musicians for years. Think of all your old-time movie favorites, and I’m sure you’ll be able to recall a screen shot of a musician playing the trombone wearing cool-cat shades and a white sports jacket. It’s those memories, combined with new ones from the DC Jazz Fest that keep the heart of this art alive and pumping to its own tune. Sometimes life with a little piano, and some great dance moves, makes everything just feel better.
The DC Jazz Festival is a nonprofit organization. They help advance music education, unify diverse communities, enable connections between artists and audiences, and enhance economic growth in the District. The goals of the DC Jazz Festival are to: present exciting, adventurous and diverse programming for all ages and backgrounds. To create exceptional festival experiences. To honor the District’s rich legacy of jazz and many more. For a full schedule of the artist lineup and times, plus venue listings, visit their website online. This will be over a week of shows, and space is limited, so plan your itinerary soon and of course arrive early.
