The National Prayer Breakfast is a tradition dating back to 1953. It is held on the first Thursday of February each year. This year the breakfast will take place on February 4th 2016 at the Washington Hilton on Connecticut. This is a rise to the challenge of how we recognize faith in government but also within ourselves. It is a form of respect and comradery. The breakfast is held in the grand ballroom at the Washington Hilton Hotel. Hosted by the members of the United States Congress, those of political influence, every-day Americans, member of The Fellowship Foundation, and observers all gather to say a prayer for change.
Now it’s not just a time to reflect, but also a time to form relationships. It seems funny considering the divide amongst politicians. However, this is when everyone puts that aside to learn about each other from a different lens. Leave your judgements in the parking garage and be prepared to have goosebumps. Because each year the President participates, this adds the novelty flare and really, how cool is that? Now it gets better, the President is a known speaker, but a super-secret guest also speaks though his identity is kept under-wraps until the actual day.
Come join this event in Washington to acknowledge the importance of prayer, faith, fellowship, and friends.
