This June 14th to the 17th at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel will be the ABA Regulatory Compliance Conference. This event is for compliance professionals. Now, what is a compliance professional—because I certainly don’t know: They are experts that utilize methods to gain influence in the fields of politics, economics, and personal arena. So this could be a useful convention to attend if you’re in the market for more friends—or just different friends. At this convention, critical consumer compliance issues will be brought in to focus. Issues of focus are topics of interest from the American Bankers Association (ABA). So compliance professionals can come learn valuable take-away lessons to strengthen their program within the banking industry. This is all starting to make sense now.
There will be a pre-conference workshop available, for the over achievers wanting a head start, on June 13th. This will be a Fair Lending pre-conference workshop to help compliance professionals meet regulatory expectations. This pre-conference has the latest and greatest for seasoned attendees.
The pre-conference workshop is priced separately from the actual conference, but you can sign-up now on their registration page. And for those always interested in snacking—I have my hand raised right now—a continental breakfast and lunch will be provided at the workshop.
