Sadly it happened! The government shut down and with that many museums, monuments and national parks throughout the USA. This action left thousand of tourists very unhappy to say the least, and many demanding refunds because they are no longer able to visit the places they planned to visit. Of course this situation has created very difficult situations for the lodging and food industries.
