From August 24th through the 26th, 2016 the Washington Chapter of the American Institute of Architects is holding their regional conference at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, only a few miles away from our Dupont Circle Bed and Breakfast. The main focus of this conference include the unique challenges posed by working in Metropolitan Washington for architects, interior designers, engineers, contractors, planners, landscape architects, and developers in the DC Metropolitan area. The event itself will last three days, along with two days of educational sessions and trade show exhibits at the Washington Convention Center, and a third day full of opportunities to tour projects across DC, MD, and VA. You have the opportunity to earn AIA, GBCI, AICP, ASLA, IIDA, LACES, and PDH credits at all three days of DesignDC.
While all the tabletop spaces are sold out, you can still participate as an attendee! If you go to their website you can find a registration form. For those of you that have already secured an exhibitor spot this is a great opportunity to increase your brand exposure and show the DC Architectural community your support their drive for continued education….choose your sponsorship early before they’re all gone!
This event is presented by AIA|DC, AIA Potomac Valley, AIA Northern Virginia, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA – MAC), the National Capital Area Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA), and the Potomac Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). With such an extensive network of support, some of the most innovative and memorable projects come out of this grouping.
Here is a documentary that was produced by the American Institute of Architects about the famous architect Chris Downey, who is known in the industry and a trail blazer for the blind.
